LUDMILA BERGEON
I completed my entire academic journey at the IAD - Institut des Arts de Diffusion, specializing in directing. I graduated in September 2023.
My first documentary project, created in 2021 outside of IAD, Sur la peau des femmes ("On Women's Skin"), had a modest festival run. This film allowed me to delve into the intimacy and stories of women, providing me with a space for creative freedom beyond the academic framework.
I have explored various artistic fields, such as radio documentaries, with La vie matérielle ("Material Life"), which aired several times on the radio, and fiction, with Sixtine, a co-direction with Etienne Barrère during our Master's studies. However, my natural interest in documentary cinema persists. The research it entails and the capacity to immerse oneself in and reinterpret reality deeply inspire me.
In 2023, I presented my first photography exhibition, venturing into new artistic forms and sharing my work with a broader audience. This project remained faithful to my core interests, focusing on exploring reality in both form and substance, always resonating with my desire for truth and authenticity.
Today, I continue this exploration through various artistic mediums, returning to writing with my ongoing essay, Ô féminin, dans le cinéma de Chantal Akerman ("On the Feminine in the Cinema of Chantal Akerman"), a reflection on the representation of femininity. Simultaneously, I am working on a short documentary film, Vide et matières ("Void and Matters"), which flirts with experimental codes while remaining grounded in a concrete and sensory approach to reality.
My journey is a continuous exploration of the boundary between the visible and the invisible, between the intimate and the collective. Through my works, I seek to unveil what lies just beneath the surface, whether through images, sound, or words.
